I’m Jen Randall, a director and editor who aims to empower, entertain and challenge viewers with emotive narratives and a quiet sense of fun. I love to dig deep into character and make films with a message.

For over a decade, I’ve specialized in unearthing the creative threads that make intimate, character-driven stories authentic and universal. I firmly believe in championing female voices, and have repeatedly done so in the adventure documentary world where, for me, outdoor adventure provides a stellar backdrop for very human stories.

My films have been distributed across international cinemas, awarded major prizes at mountain film festivals, sold for broadcast, and gained large online followings. I’m currently most excited about editing with my creative family at Halcyon Post, working as an independent director and offering story development to creative partners, with goals that include being part of more marginalized voices finding their platform and taking my skills to the wider documentary arena.

In my own time, I can be found climbing and exploring my local mountains with a stills camera in hand or taking slow walks with my beloved, elderly rescue dog, Crux.

If you have an idea or story you’d like to explore, drop me a line on the Contact Page.
