Directing in the Alaska Range for Patagonia, May 2025
I’m Jen Randall, an editor and director who aims to empower, entertain and challenge viewers with emotive narratives and a quiet sense of fun. I love digging deep into intimate, character-driven stories and, for well over a decade, have been doing so in the adventure documentary world where, if you ask me, outdoor adventure provides a stellar backdrop for exploring very human experiences.
My films have been broadcast, distributed across international cinemas and awarded major prizes at mountain film festivals. I’m currently most excited about editing with my creative family at Halcyon Post, working as an independent director and offering story development to creative partners.
In my own time, I can be found climbing and exploring my local mountains with a stills camera in hand or taking slow walks with my beloved, elderly rescue dog, Crux.
If you have an idea or story you’d like to explore, drop me a line on the Contact Page.
Past and present clients include: Patagonia, Hulu, Sender Films, Arc’teryx, The North Face, Telus, Well Travelled Collective, Expedition Studios, Sony, Camp4 Collective, Yeti, Arcade Motion, Red Bull, Coldhouse Collective, Berghaus & Handful of Films.
“Jen’s editing has style and flow, and she brings a director’s knack for story and character to her work, finding the human moments that make a film special. She is a joy to collaborate with.”
Peter Mortimer, Sender Films
“ I worked with Jen on a feature-length documentary that was very personal to me. From the start, I felt I was in safe hands, but not boring, predictable ones, which safe often means. Jen is daring and bold in her visions, uniquely creative and masterful at threading so many elements together seamlessly and professionally.”
