Light Shed Pictures offers a full range of filmmaking services, from developing concepts to final delivery. Our speciality is working closely with athletes and brands, providing story development and strategy to then direct, shoot and edit a project. We also have strong links with outstanding sound designers, drone operators, photographers, writers, camera operators, animators and distributors to add to our pool of creative skills.
If you have an idea or story you want to explore, or simply know your brand wants to put a film into the world, drop me a line on our Contact Page.
Jen Randall - Filmmaker
As the Creative Director and filmmaker behind Light Shed Pictures, Jen specialises in making creative documentaries that explore and celebrate identity and landscape with a raw, bold simplicity. She aims to empower, entertain and challenge viewers with intricately woven, emotive storytelling and a quiet sense of fun, working in close collaboration with athletes, artists and brands. Her work has been awarded major prizes at international mountain film festivals, been sold for broadcast, gained large online followings, and has been distributed across UK cinemas. In her downtime, she often quests into the wilds on adventures inspired by her subjects, from long distance walks to big walls.
A few of my favourite collaborators...
Alex Gorham - Photographer, Producer
Alex Gorham's unique eye for a shot and story bring extra life to our projects. We have recently collaborated on exciting campaigns and articles for The Outsiders store, Lowe Alpine, The National Trust, Climb Magazine and Another Escape. Al has held key roles on several of our short films for BMC TV, as well as producing our Epic TV series Europe’s Best Crags and co-producing Psycho Vertical.
Claire Carter - Writer, Filmmaker, Creative Consultant
Based between Sheffield and North Wales, Claire Carter is the Artistic Director of Kendal Mountain Festival and the Engagement Officer for the Outdoor Industry Association. Having co-directed Operation Moffat and as the spark behind The Bothy Project, Claire is now editing a new anthology of women's adventure writing and art - Waymaking - to be published by Vertebrate in October 2018.
Chris Prescott - Sound Designer, Filmmaker
With one foot in Chamonix and the other in Edinburgh, Chris is a furiously hard working filmmaker and photographer with his own production company, Dark Sky Media. We love him best for his sound design skills, and have collaborated with him in this field on several films, from Project Mina to Psycho Vertical.
